Crown Cruise Vacations says this summer and fall may be the best time ever to cruise
PRINCETON, N.J., June 4, 2009 – Families and other travelers planning unforgettable vacations this summer are getting more for their money than ever before on many cruise sailings, especially those to Alaska.
According to Ross Spalding, owner and president of fast-growing Crown Cruise Vacations, many of the premium lines that sail to the Land of the Midnight Sun are cutting their rates for all-inclusive cruise vacations by as much as 50 percent.
On select seven-day Alaska itineraries offered by Celebrity, Princess and Holland America, for example, a family of four can enjoy an Alaska cruise for under $2,000; two people for $1,200 or less. One cruise line is offering a standard Alaska cruise for an unbelievable $329 per person. Balcony cabins on select Alaska cruises are available for $1,500 total for two people.
The luxury cruise lines visiting Alaska, including Crystal and Regent Seven Seas among others, also are offering great deals. While they may not be lowering their cruise prices like others, the luxury lines are adding value-added enticements, such as unlimited free shore excursions and very generous shipboard credits.
“Now is a great time to enjoy a cruise vacation, whether one is a first timer or veteran traveler,” Spalding said. “These unprecedented prices for Alaska are simply unheard of, and similar deals and extras for European and Hawaiian cruises are being offered this summer and fall.

While last-minute bookings remain popular throughout the cruise industry, especially among seniors, many cruise lines are offering a number of early-booking promotions to fill their ships as quickly as possible.
Carnival, for example, is encouraging travelers to book cruise travel five months out or longer through heavy discounting.
In some cases, the retail price of a Caribbean cruise booked on a Carnival ship that far in advance is being discounted by up to 25 percent – in addition to any other savings being offered by one’s travel agent.
Spalding says Crown Cruise Vacations guarantees the lowest cruise prices in the industry based on its ability to block space on thousands of cruise sailings each year from the premium and mass-market cruise lines.
Unlike many other agencies, Crown can offer the low prices for extended periods no matter how much the retail price of a cruise may fluctuate.
The majority of customer leads are generated through the Internet, but most people book their cruises with Crown’s knowledgeable and experienced team of agents, each of whom has at least eight years of experience in the cruise industry. While some online agencies charge a fee for booking a cruise through an agent, Spalding says his does not.
“Why should a customer pay more for an agent’s help, especially when they often are spending thousands of dollars on a vacation,” he explained. “This policy is part of our focus on customer service, from our initial contact with a customer to the cruise itself. They can use the online booking tool if they choose. It enables a person to securely price and book cruise vacations online with 13 cruise lines. (Cruise itineraries can be accessed online for a total of 20 cruise lines.)
“However they plan their cruise vacations, our best customers are informed shoppers,” Spalding said. “There are thousands of cruises available annually so, if a customer has a general idea of where and when they want to vacation on a cruise, this makes the job of our agents that much easier and the whole experience of planning a cruise much more enjoyable.”
